I have had feedback from someone, somewhere out there in the world who has asked for, amongst other things... pictures of roadkill.
So, duly informed about the requests of our loyal readers and trying to follow the media mantra of 'give the people what they want', I was on the look out for squirrels, rabbits, or indeed deer, that might have been hit in Richmond Park.
Reporting back, I'm afraid there were none to be seen, and so, sadly, there were no excuses to stop for a breather and take photos.
I will keep my eyes out on future rides, though it begs the question; in such a place as Richmond Park, why were there no casualties? Ultra vigilant park wardens to clear up, or just savvy squirrels who know to avoid the roads? More to follow.
I saw a dead squirrel!
ReplyDeleteThis morning, middle of the road, in Richmond Park. Great I thought, how this will please the readers! But alas, on my next lap around I went to take a photo and the little blighter was already gone. But why/how?
a) Loyal park warden had scrapped him off,
b) Keen dog walker had taken him for a proper burial,
c) Dog got him,
d) He is stuck to the bottom of a car wheel,
e) He was pretending to be dead.
I will keep you all updated on any further news.
Here in France someone would have picked him up & cooked him for lunch. Perhaps there is the French people nearby.
